Matthew Hanson's Biography

• Matthew Hanson serves as the Assistant Director of Programs and Performance for the Governor’s Office of Economic Recovery (GOER).  In this capacity he helps coordinate the implementation of over $6 billion dollars worth of federal grants allocated to the State of Arizona from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.  Prior to joining GOER, Mr. Hanson served as the Intergovernmental and Grants Program Coordinator for the City of Goodyear. A Grant Professional Certified, Mr. Hanson served as the 2008 President of the American Association of Grant Professionals-Arizona Chapter.  Prior to relocating to Arizona he served as Director of the Grants Policy Office at the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Justice Programs.
